After a gut busting Biltmore Inn breakfast buffet this morning, we hopped on a shuttle to the Biltmore Estate, George Vanderbilt’s humble little home. Ok for real though, it’s the largest residential home in America. The place has 43 bathrooms! It was absolutely insane.
Unfortunately you couldn’t take pictures inside so you’ll just have to take our word for it.. It was gorgeous inside. However, the exterior isn’t anything to shake a fist at either. There are mountains in every direction you look, an absolutely gorgeous garden and conservatory, and oh yeah, a crazy beautiful house that looks like it belongs in the middle of France, not North Carolina.
After touring the house and the garden, we checked out the village area where there is a winery and some shops and restaurants as well as a great exhibit on Louis Comfort Tiffany and his famous lamps.
Then it was back in the car to Bryson City where our favorite cabin & favorite view awaited….
